Hello, dear families,
I am Íris. I love taking care of babies and children, as well as do house tasks. I helped raising my niece since she was born, so I know how to bottle feed, changing diapers, putting them to sleep, and entertain them. Since I have a musical backgroung, I would love to sing for the babies and children as I did with my niece. I can play guitar, ukulele, and piano, and I can also just sing for them. I have one year volunteer experience as a catechist with 6 years old kids, and I had to organize the classes for them. Also had to take care of them during church trips and so on. I can also teach them and help them with homework, since I have bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences which envolves a lot of human biology, chemistry, physics, maths, and I was an excellent school student so I can help with pretty much anything. I had swimming classes since I was little so I know how to swim if that is necessary. I love doing crafts, so I would love to work your kids' creativity. I do crochet as well and my expertise area is baby clothes. I don't drive but I can walk and do the needed tasks such as picking up kids from school, shopping, or whatever is necessary. I learned houkeeping with my mother, who was very strict in cleaning and keeping everything organized. She worked as a cooker for many years, the best I've ever known, so I learned from her the cooking ability, doing the laundry, cleaning houses to perfectionism, shopping, and other house tasks. I had a dog for several years so I can also take care of pets, including cats. Last months I also developed gardening skills, where I planted a little bit of everything, so I can also tend the garden if that's necessary.
I am portuguese, and I can also speak english. I can cover the basics of French and will seek for improvement of this language.
I'm moving with my partner to Geneva, so if it's required live-in jobs, I would really appreciate if the family could receive us both (we don't mind paying more for this purpose). He would be working all day and he can also help with any tasks when home. If desired, we can also apply as "working couple". My partner has a bachelor's degree in social gerontology, with years of experience in taking care of the eldery people, disabled care, and care for people with special-needs. He is also very crafty and solves a lot of problems in the house. He has a valid driver's license.
The reason why I am applying to this job is because I love to be with children and would love to help a family as if it was my own.
