My name is Tori. I received my Bachelor's degree from UC San Diego in Neuroscience and Psychology and did a ton of work on childhood language development. Following time at college, I started graduate school at Johns Hopkins University to receive a Master's in Neuroscience and Gifted Education. I also did research fellow at Yale University and presented my dissertation on childhood development at UCLA, Berkeley and UC San Diego.

Nannying and overall working with kids has always been such a joy to me, and that is why my education and job experience have reflected that. I taught 1st grade in New York City and then third grade in Connecticut. I know the steps it takes to get children reading, learning different languages and overall balancing their academics with fun at home!

Besides teaching and doing research on childhood development, I also was a lifeguard, swim instructor and nanny for over the past 8 years! I feel I have a breadth of experience when it comes with working with kids. I can be both a tutor, have experience working with LD and special needs children and also have nannied for infants, toddlers all the way up to teenagers.

As for my personality, I love to travel. I have been to over 30 countries! I speak English, Spanish, Latin and I am working on French and German currently. I am very bubbly, friendly and outgoing. I am a huge people person and feel relationships are one of the most important aspects in life. I love pets, I love outdoor activities like running, skiing, hiking, skateboarding, surfing and camping. There is a list of things I love to do and I am always open to learning new trades.

I am an avid reader, so if I am not outside I am mostly spending time reading or studying more up on my research interests. Some of my favorite authors are Dostoevsky, Woolf, Hugo, Wilde, Hemingway, Dickens and more. I find myself consistently pulled to classic novels.

I also love music. I play classical music on my flute, learning the guitar currently and hope to one day pick up the piano as well. I have very eclectic music taste, so can listen to about anything.
