Dear host family, my name is Natalie, but you probably already know that due to my application. I currently live in Kenya with my parents and my sibilings in the capital city called Nairobi. My mother currently works as a producer mostly doing contractual work and my dad is a farmer, he has a farm in the countryside of Kenya farming what is available depending on the seasons.My older brother has just graduated from university and is currently looking for work while my younger sibilings are still in highschool. I love my family very much and I especially appreciate the struggles my parenyts have gone through especially with the ever changing economy.

I got my highschool diploma in the year before and I have mostly been doing part time jobs to help out with my families expenses. It has honestly been a journey for me and I was able to do various odd jobs which have helped me learn new skills, but my most favourite job is working with children. I have worked with children like doing babysitting jobs and nannying but I never considered doing it professionally until the people I helped out kept on telling me that I have a way with kids and the fact that I care about them while caring for them is amazing. Before I got my diploma I didn’t have any clue on exactly what I wanted to pursue but after the feedback I got and the fact that I loved working with children helped me decide that I would like to work with children. To me this is an amazing job offer for me because I will be able to work with children and still fulfill my dream of travelling while earning enough money to pay for my tuition in university hence lightening my parents load and both my younger siblings can attend university.

This job for me is a miracle and I mostly consider it as me providing a helping hand more than it being a job. I love to read during my free time from romance to thrillers, depending on my mood. I try as much as I can to incorporate different genres to my reading lists to diversify it. Other than reading I also love swimming, I used to swim competively during my school years but due to an injury I couldn’t be able to pursue it professionally. But I love swimming whenever I can, I like to think of the water as my safe space.

I actually taught one of the children I cared for how to swim and it become one of our most favourite past time activity. He was scared of the water and essentially drowning but I was able to later on convince him that it wasn’t something to fear especially if you can learn how to swim reducing the chances of drowning but not exactly in those words.I hope I was able to help you get to know me better on who I am as a person I know it doesn’t cover everything but to me it covers the most important information needed to get to know me.
