I am a 35-year-old woman Australian woman who has been a Montessori nanny for ten years in private families. I have worked all over the world, including; Europe, the Caribbean, Japan, and Australia. I am Australian by nationality and Mauritian by birth, and I consider myself a global citizen. I speak fluent French and English (my mother tongue) and intermediate Italian and Germany. I lived in Germany for four years and love this country!
Over my career as a nanny, I have taken care of children ranging from 2 months to 10 years. I have been trained in the Montessori Pedagogy and believe in a kind, gentle, child lead approach. I believe in creating a safe, caring, and respectful environment to allow children to thrive and develop their full potential mentally, cognitively, emotionally, socially, and physically. I am passionate about bringing a Montessori approach to the daily lives of children, incorporating practical life experiences as well as educational experiences. I believe in days filled with outdoor play, music, baking, and paint all over our hands. I teach them life skills, motor skills, personal hygiene, discipline, and games, creating a happy environment to give them beautiful childhood memories. I am always looking up new games, crafts, and art projects, but I also try to balance that with free play, promoting the use of their imaginations and letting children explore the world on their terms.
I possess a TEFL qualification and have taught and tutored English to non-native speakers to fluency levels.
I have my first aid certificates in order. As a nanny, I often participate in seminars and certificates, if my schedule allows, to continue developing and learning to be the best nanny and person I can be. I am also currently studying on a part-time schedule for a Diploma in Counseling.
I am confident about boats and all travel. I am adventurous, independent, responsible, and kind. I adapt to new situations quickly and treat everyone I meet with respect.
I am fully vaccinated against the covid-19 virus, having had my two Pfizer Vaccines in Germany. I am very vigilant against the virus, take regular PCR tests, and quarantine upon arrival in new destinations.
I am now in my last year of part-time study and am looking for my last family to nanny for before I hang up my Mary Poppins umbrella. It is important for me to find a family with values of kindness, respect and happiness and work well together to create an environment of harmony and joy for everyone.
