My name is Abigail and I'm 23 years old. I've lived on a small cropping/cattle family farm for most of my life and have always loved working with children. I have 2 younger brothers and two older sisters.

I've started my cert 3 in early childhood and have a children's first aid certificate as well as a QLD working with children's check.

I've had experience as a casual babysitter for multiple children aged from 1-10 years old and up to 7 children at a time.
I've been a live-out nanny for a kindy girl (who had a variety of food allergies at the time) while I was studying and working as retail assistant during the day.
I've also spent 2019 as a governess for 3 girls aged prep, grade 3 and grade 4.

For 15 months in 2020/2021, I was an au pair in Germany to 2 boys and 1 girl aged between 3 and 9 years. This role required me to expand my cooking skills to cover vegan meals so am comfortable with learning different diets. I was also able to improve my German skills as the children didn't know any English before my arrival. As this role was during covid, I was also helping out with the home-schooling.

After I came back from Germany, from August 2021- December 2021, I worked in a day care centre in Kingaroy as a childcare assistant with ages 4 months to 8 years.
Then 2022, saw me move to Longreach working as a retail assistant full-time until a 1 day per week babysitting role came up looking after a 2 year old which I did part time until the mother went on maternity in August this year. For the past 12 months, I've also worked part time in the local daycare, working with all age groups. 6 weeks -10 years.

I love being able to spend time with children and see them taking great delight playing with the most simple things and also being able to learn so much through play.
My hobbies are reading, music, walking, cooking/baking, sewing. I play the flute and piano.
