Working with children has always been my "favorite job" and I always seem to come back to it! I have a degree in nutrition but have worked more with kids than in my own area of expertise. This says a lot about me and I clearly have a passion for it. I consider to have a gift of working with kids and have years of paid professional experience to prove it. In a ten year period, I have developed bonds with multiple families that have always left me and the family with tears in our eyes when it was time to part ways. Over the years in working with children, I have learned that the stronger the bond you develop the greater the opportunity to create a positive lasting impact, and a great way to develop this bond is by engaging with children in things they find interesting. Reading books, playing games they enjoy, and listening to what they have to say, with intention, is important to establish a trusting connection. It is very important for me to leave a lifetime positive impact for each family I work with! I've offered homework help, pick-up/drop off, light house cleaning, home organization, cooking for the family and meal prepping as added responsibilities. I have experience working with kids of all ages, from infants 3+ mo to 12 year olds.
I implement gentle and positive discipline and lead healthy character development in kids through teaching key values such as respect, fair play, kindness, compassion, empathy, and independence. I worked as a healthy lifestyle coach for the YMCA and I was trained in the areas of physical and social development in children, especially building healthy eating habits. I also received yearly CPR training for 4 years. It is not up to date as of now, but I would be willing to re -certify if needed.
As your nanny or Au Pair expect a very nurturing, loving, patient, kind and respectful character. I grew up around a lot of cousins and have one younger sister who helped me cultivate these skills. Nannying is a job I enjoy and take very seriously, and I always aim to deliver the very best!
I am currently looking for part/full time (25+ hours per week) for a duration of 3 - 6 months, willing to travel abroad for a more enriching experience, and teach English and/or Spanish as well. I would love to speak to you if you think I would be a possible match for your family!
