My name is Kristen. I am a well-traveled, mature and adventurous nanny. I have been with my current nanny family since 2020 and will be transitioning as the children all move into school in May of 2024, and NB has gained Tenure at work she will be home again.
I'm open to nanny positions wherever they may be in the US or abroad. I have a Switzerland Visa and Driver's license as well as my US Passport and Driver's License.
I have traveled to many nations of the world and would love for that to be a part of my nanny position.
Ideally for now I'm looking for a live-in position even if the job is only part-time as I am transitioning out of a live in position currently. That can be adjusted as needed once settled.
I have been a nanny on and off since I was in college and I am now almost 40. (But I'm not slowing down) I have been a preschool teacher, a foster parent, and have been a child care provider and some capacity for the last 20 years.
I spent my time before my current nanny family working in graphic design for about 10 years. I worked in the states, in Hawaii, and then most recently in Switzerland doing Design before moving to my current nanny position. I also run a small polymer clay earrings business on the side.
I am looking specifically for a nanny position more than a housekeeping position. I want to be an extension of the family, help the day to run smoothly in direct relation to the children and their schedules and how their time is spent. I would love the freedom to assist in building routines for children in cleaning up and caring for themselves. I very much consider myself a "gentle parent" nanny first and foremost. I hold firm boundaries and expectations while allowing for exploration on the world around them, their emotions and autonomy. I lean towards Montessori, Forest School, Hands on learning styles. I believe Children are brilliant little humans and should be raised and spoken to as such. They understand so much, and are capable of even more. I encourage self expression, self dressing, I also love to cook and bake with my nanny children.
I love to go go go, in my current nanny position we are always doing something, we're at the playground or the park, the museum, the play cafe, doing some shopping, going on walks, going for hikes in the woods. I love being active and exploring. I am an avid traveler, and I also really love Disney.
As I have been a nanny for quite some time before I do know what I am looking for in a potential family. I do look forward to chatting and seeing if we could be a wonderful fit.
