Thank you for taking time to read my profile. I am not interested in taking a house cleaning job for Mansions or Estates. Thank you. I am seeking a long-term position where I could use a variety of my skills, including housekeeping. Should there be a need for other duties/skills, I have extensive experience in dealing with contractors for repairs, equipment and additions for the home; pet and home sitting, personal assisting, Nanny and Senior Care, and more.
I am a mature woman presently living north of Kansas City Missouri, USA, in a small town called Smithville. A bit about my background, I grew up in the Kansas City Missouri area, attending Catholic grade school & high schools, had very strict but loving parents, with ethnic backgrounds being Italian/Sicilian on my dad's side, and German/English on my mother's side.
I came from a close,honest, loving, hardworking family.
I always thought I had the best of both worlds, learning traditions and how to cook many cuisines. We were raised predominantly eating Italian following traditions, with a mix of German food & others upon ocassion. My Grandparents were big influences on my life, we were very close, they taught me many things but cooking was my favorite, and I loved it!
I had a lot of responsibility at an early age, including cooking and cleaning, watching my siblings, laundry & ironing (all those Catholic uniforms - ugh! I hate to iron to this day.), looking after my siblings, laundry, pet care, and overall just being responsible and helping out. I am one of 6 children, 2nd born, eldest daughter.
I am divorced with one grown son. I do have a 2 yr old dog named Sofia Loren. She's got a sweet disposition, is well behaved, gets along with most other dogs, is kennel trained and is mommie's little girl. I am also a young-at-heart grandmother of 7 children that call me "Nana," that I love and adore. I am an ex-smoker, in fairly good health, and enjoy a variety of passtimes. One of my passions is cooking. I've learned to prepare many dishes from many countries' cuisines. Even taken a few classes. Of course Italian and German, but also Mexican, Thai, Chinese, Greek, Polish, American and more. I also love to bake, enjoy canning fresh vegetables and fruit and making preserves, or freezing seasonal vegetables to savor off-season. I've been known to make pasta from scratch, which I learned when in Sicily. Yum!
Some of my pass times are reading, working crossword puzzles, enjoying live entertainment, Antique and Flea Markets, museums, & art galleries, boating, ethnic dining,traveling, movies and more.
Usually when ever I've done housekeeping, it was in conjunction with either caring for children or an elderly person or couple. My experience ranges from sweeping and mopping the floors, dishes, dusting, cleaning baseboards, bathrooms, bedrooms, linen changes, vacuuming, laundry, shopping, cooking, cleaning the refrigerator and stove,and pet and plant care. Sorry, but I do not iron, clean pools, wash outdoor windows or do yard work. I have also done additional duties such as house and pet sitting, running errands, travel planning, catering & event planning, misc shopping, bill paying, lite clerical work, and traveling with the client when needed.
I have also completed CPR and first aid training, have a good driving record and a squeeky clean background. I do have both County and State background checks, and references to share. If a federal background check is necessary, I found out it will take six to eight weeks, but I would be willing to get it for the right position.
My friends and family would describe me as dependable, honest, trustworthy, caring, and thorough in any jobs I take on and in our relationships. Some would also say I'm funny, love to joke around, am dependable, enjoy learning and traveling, am very social and approachable, and am always there when needed.
Securing a legitimate, honest, open communicative, mutually respectable, long-term position is what I am seeking.
My experience is extensive and my fees reasonable depending on home size and desired duties. Since I am divorced and have no children to care for at home, I could be available to start work in a short period of time. That fact also leaves me free to travel in my life. So if the position is located in another state, or even another country, I would be willing to discuss the job with you and possibly relocate. I have traveled extensively, and I do have a passport.
