Dear family,

Thank you for taking time to read my letter. I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself, my family and my childcare experiences. My name is Rose, I’m 27 years old, single and no child from the Philippines. My home is in Davao City, it’s considered the largest city in the Philippines (by size) and capital city of the Davao region.
I belong to a family of 7 including my parents. My father is a great electrician working in residential homes. My mother is a housewife, she is the best cook in our village and cooking is one of the things I learned from her. I have two elder brothers and two sisters, they are all married and living nearby. So basically I help them taking care of their children. I’m a family oriented woman. I was raised in a very loving family. In fact, my family is very close to people especially our neighborhoods. We treat them as our extended family. Our house is definitely the hangout spot. My mother would always share food to them whenever she cooks. They are really comfortable with us.
Now, I would like to tell you about myself and my reasons for choosing to be an au pair. I have my university degree major in English Language. I graduated in one of the state universities in the Philippines. Additionally, I have successfully finished my second degree to be a secondary teacher. I’m a goal oriented person. For four years of experience teaching English to locals as well as international students such as Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese and Mongolians, I have become an expert in commanding children attention. I have managed both small and large classrooms. I also got awarded as ``The Most Reliable Teacher (which I can provide certificates). I can easily get along with people very well. I love helping. Actually, during the lockdown period, a lot of families were struggling and they have lost their jobs. I just thought of how I could help our community. So, I organized a fundraising to our village. I reached out to the people I know who still got a job during lockdown if they could help a little. It may seem like a small gesture, but it made a great impact. In addition, I am highly organized, I like to keep a clean workspace. I am passionate about my work, I challenge myself daily and learn new skills that helped me to do better work.I work on it every morning and evening
At this point I would like to give you an overview about my childcare experience. My training in providing care to children and adults started at a very early age. Since I’m the only one who is not married yet in our family, I have helped my siblings taking care of their children even until now. From preparing meals to performing house cleaning tasks, and accompanying children to various activities. I gather my nephews and nieces at home and during the day, I teach them how to do house chores and in the evening I help them with their home works. I absolutely love doing fun activities with them. Additionally, as a teacher, apart from teaching and taking care of my students I also make sure that they are safe. Therefore, I am someone on whom you can rely on and someone with whom your kids can have a lot of fun. I have an extensive background in babysitting for children of all ages. I know how to deal with kids very well as I’m very patient, enthusiastic, creative and supportive in every aspect of caring for children. Moreover, I’m responsible and reliable, committed to providing high quality care for children while encouraging their social and educational development.
I have decided to become an au pair because I want to immerse myself in an entirely different culture and learn new language. I love the fact I could work in another country and use the free time to explore a new place. Plus, I get to work with children all the time, which is my field of work. In addition, I want to create a wonderful home environment where everyone feels loved, appreciated, comfortable, and safe. I would like to say that being the au pair of your choice would mean that you give me the chance of living my dream and I am willing and looking forward to become a true member of your family.
