Hi there, we are a family of 4 living in São Paulo since January 2023. I'm the mother, born and raised in Brazil, studied and lived in the US & Belgium over a decade. I work remotely as a Sales Manager for a technology company. My husband is Belgian, had lived and studied abroad many times as well. We recently moved to São Paulo with our 2 girls, Sophia and Valentina.
Our girls goes to school every day, only 2x a week they are back at home around lunch time to spend quality time playing at home/at the park in the afternoon. We all have duo-citizenship, Belgian & Brazilian. The kids speak Dutch & Portuguese fluently and the older one also speaks English. Me and my husband communicate mostly in English, even though he speaks Portuguese and I also speak Dutch.
São Paulo is probably one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, always something to do! Brazil is definitely the most welcoming country of all we'd travelled and lived (above 40 countries, before kids we used to be backpackers!).
We live in a large apartment in a great neighborhood, very central easy to get to the most important places in the city. The au pair will have a suite in the apartment, double bed and private bathroom. s well as access to use the common areas in the condominium (Pool & Gym). You can either live in or leave out, regardless we are searching someone with availability and flexibility to help us mostly in the weekends and late afternoons/evenings.

We search for a Native Dutch Speaking (Belgian or Dutch) female au pair to play, tutor and take care of our 2 girls. We have a cleaning lady that comes to clean up the home, do laundry, iron and cook.
The only house duties we expect the au pair to do is walking the dog (small Yorkshire), helping cleaning up after dinner & making sure everything from the kids is always organized and in place.
Kids are very fun, cute & energetic. They want to play: go to the park/playground (right in front of the house), go swimming etc. It's key that the au pair is someone who absolutely loves kids, makes them feel confident & special and is willing to sit down and play for real with them (watch them play on the Ipad / TV does not count. So seriously, the job is to make them active... in Dutch!)
During the week they have a few afternoons at school (2x week until 5pm) and other afternoons at home around lunch time (3x week). You will have plenty of time for yourself. Are you off? No need to report back where you are or what tile you will be arriving home. As long as you don't make a mess when entering, feel free to explore the city. You are young and free!
Are the kids at home? Let's interact, help with homework, play downstairs for 1h30 then shower and have dinner.
It's Friday: Parents night out? So let's have a pajama's party, dance, eat popcorn and watch Disney movies. Saturday the parents are running errands? Let's go play at the playground, ride the bike or play in the pool.
All in all, we search for someone fun, responsible, caring and organized that is searching for the opportunity to learn the language and experiencing Brazil (you will not regret this, seriously!)

Importante note: Being Dutch or Belgian is non negotiable! The reason why we search for an au pair is specifically to help our kids continue evolving in their language skills. Although they are Belgians, the youngest one moved here with only 3yo and is rapidly losing her words when trying to speak Dutch with her dad. We need and want another Native Dutch speaker in the house. That's it ;)
