Dear Future Au Pair,
It would be a pleasure to welcome you into our home. We are a happy family of 6 who live in Augusta, Georgia. Wale is a 42-year-old civil engineer and IT analyst. Nina is a 38-year-old pharmaceuticaldirector. We both work remotely with occasional work travel 6-7 days a month for Nina. Our children are Toby (8), Noelle (5), Gigi (2) and Isabelle/Izzy (infant). We welcomed our first au pair back in 2020 during COVID and she stayed with us for over 2 years. We found that our lives were so enriched by her presence that we would love to continue the experience going forward.
We are a fun-loving and laid-back family. Our core values are faith, family and friendship. We love to host parties, enjoy the company of our friends with good food, laughter and music. We live in a family-friendly suburban community with a lot of playdates and friends for our children. We also vacation frequently to Florida with many activities for children and adults including Disneyworld and Universal Resorts.
The city of Augusta is a mid-size city with a lot of exciting places to explore including walking and biking trails, kayaking and riverwalks and a culturally engaging downtown area. Our home is an easy 15-minute drive from downtown, nearby restaurants and other fun spots. Augusta is 2 hours away from the bustling city of Atlanta, and many nearby beaches and surrounding cities to explore.
We are looking for a caring, independent, mature au pair who enjoys spending time with family and friends, who loves to cook/barbecue and who loves to explore nature and culture. A strong driver with good organizational skills is preferred. We live in a 6-bedroom suburban single-family home in a gated community. Au pair will have her own bedroom with a queen bed, desk and TV. A third car is available primarily for au pair use.
Household rules: non-smoking household, no drinking during work hours and no inebriated behavior in household, no overnight guests, car use will be determined by driving skill, generally within 30-minute radius in first 3 months of stay. Au pair will have most weekends off unless one parent is out of town.
Childcare tasks include the following: children’s laundry (washing, and folding), tidying and organizing children’s spaces (bedrooms, play area). Teaching/Assisting older kids (Toby and Noelle) to make their beds daily, clean up their toys and put away their laundry - an organized au pair is a plus. Children’s meals during work hours, planning and packing lunches, helping with homework. Getting Toby and Noelle on and off the schoolbus, taking Toby and Noelle to karate (Mondays and Thursdays), Getting Gigi and Izzy ready and taking them to daycare (weekdays). In the summer, tasks will be modified to include camps, swim lessons and tennis lessons.
