Dear future host family,

I am Irene, I’m 23 years old. I’m from Barcelona, Spain. I currently live in Badalona with my parents, my little sister and my turtle.
I have studied Accountant and Finance in the Autonomous Barcelona University and I have been working for four years as an accountant in a chemistry company.
What can I tell about myself? I am a responsible, kind, assertive and an empathetic girl.
In my daily life I am organized and resolutive. I enjoy reading a good book or going to the gym as well as spending time with my family and friends in my relax time. I love discovering new music and attending concerts too. In summer I like to go with friends and discover new beautiful beaches in Catalonia and do some paddle surf.
I love travelling because I believe it is a good way to meet new people and also know yourself better while immersing in a new cultures and discovering new places.

As for my experience with children, I have been a volunteer for a year at the local school helping a group of 8 children between 7 and 10 years old with learning problems and in vulnerable situations to do their homework after class. I have also been a monitor at a summer basketball camp with children from 3 to 5 years old.
At the summer camp I was responsible for a group of 10 children for 5 hours from Monday to Friday during the month of August, taking care of them, preparing funny games to learn basic notions of basketball, giving them breakfast and, the most important for me, teaching them values such as mutual respect, responsabilty and comradeship.

Also I would add that I have driven since 2019 when I got the license, reason why I could be a good option if I’d have to take them somewhere.

The reason that led me to decide to do this is the pleasure of making an adventure in a completely different country in a familiar atmosphere, which I really value. I am very excited with this opportunity and it would be a pleasure to learn the lifestyle, and the culture with your children and with you, will increase my personal background and I’ll learn a lot.
