Dear Host Family,

My name is Justine and I’m 21 years old. I’m from Kigali, Rwanda and I would be so happy to become part of your family as your au pair.

I have always loved being around children. Back home I gained experience through babysitting, volunteering, and working in a kindergarten. I took care of children of different ages and helped with daily routines like preparing breakfast and snacks, getting ready for school, homework support, playing, and bedtime routines. I know how important it is to create a safe, loving, and fun environment for kids. I’m patient, responsible, and I listen carefully to children’s needs.

I really enjoy being creative with children. Some of my favorite activities are drawing, crafts, baking simple cookies together, reading stories, singing, and playing games outside. I also love sports like running and I’m happy to go to the park or do fun activities to keep the kids active. I believe children learn best when they are playing and laughing.

Family is very important to me. I grew up in a close family where we help each other and spend time together. I helped take care of my younger siblings and cousins, and that’s where my love for childcare started. In my family we value respect, honesty, teamwork, and kindness. I’m open-minded, respectful of other cultures, and I adapt quickly to new rules and routines.

In my free time I love cooking, reading, drawing, and listening to music. I’m also curious about new cultures and languages. I would be excited to learn your language and traditions, and I would also love to share my Rwandan culture with you. I can cook some traditional Rwandan dishes and I would be happy to cook for your family sometimes.

Why do I want to become an au pair abroad? I want to improve my language skills, become more independent, and gain international experience in childcare. Living with a host family is the best way for me to experience daily life in another country and to really understand your culture. After my au pair year, I plan to continue my studies and work with children in education or childcare in Rwanda. The experience, skills, and memories I gain with your family will help me a lot in my future career.

Most importantly, I want to build a real and trusting relationship with you and your children. I want to be someone you can rely on for daily help, and someone who makes your children feel safe, respected, and happy. I’m reliable, organized, and I take my responsibilities seriously. I also hope to stay in touch with you even after my stay, because I believe family connections can last a long time.
