Hello family host, I am Jake Florence from the Philippines. I am 26 years old, and I aspire to become an Au pair in your country. At present, I am living with my loving parents, together with my sisters and nephew. I grew up in a rural area where life is simple yet happy. I attended school and took a vocational course in caregiving, and there I was taught and trained to look after children and adults. Taking care of young children and adults is my passion. Ever since when I was young, and even up to now, my mother always tells me to look after my younger sisters. The fact that I am the only son in our family, It is always been my duty to protect and keep them safe. Now that one of my sisters has her child, I help her supervise her three-year-old son while she's at work. Taking care of a three-year-old nephew is never a problem for me, and in fact, I enjoy it. We play and eat together. When he's having tantrums, the thing I would always do is ignore him for a moment, and get back to him when he stops. We always have wonderful conversations and I always make sure to ask him what are his likes and dislikes. When I have spare time, I watch adorable pets on youtube and search for beautiful places in different countries to have an insight into their language, culture, and tradition. Also, I love to read fantasy books that I apply when I share a goodnight story with my nephew. I am telling this all to you because I know that there is less chance for Au pair males to get hired in this position, but I have high hopes that someday, a high number of family hosts will show an interest in hiring male au pairs.
