I am a Filipina in my 20s who is the eldest daughter in my family. I have a vast experience in taking care of the people around me regardless of their age and condition. I am also taking a Psychology degree and I am about to graduate this coming September providing me a fresh and updated knowledge in terms of extending care especially to children and adults with special needs. I am eager to offer not just my professionalism but also my love and affection to every member of the family whom I will be working with. In terms of work experience, I was able to take care of my disabled grandmother for 3 years by. Moreover, I was also able to take care of my cousin for 4 years ever since he was born. Although these are not formal and contractual jobs, I was able to gain a little amount of salary from them and most importantly, I was able to gain extensive knowledge on how to cater both elderly and children. When I was in my senior high school, I was able to work in a health center which provided me an opportunity to get the vital signs, cater to needs, dispose medicine, and provide emergency assistance to
thousands of patients. This experience of mine provided me a deepened affection and appreciation to people who are in need of greater assistance such as the elderly and children. When I am in college, I was able to work with children with special needs as an assistant SPED educator to a public school in my country. During those times, I was able to practice some of the knowledge and learnings that I was able to gain in our school as a Psychology student. Other than application, I was also able to experience being closer and more understanding to children with special needs. Right now, I am currently on my senior year in college and I am working as one of the student interns in one of the public treatment and rehabilitation center in my country where I experience being exposed to stories, conditions, and experiences of individuals who wish to be rehabilitated and treated from addiction to prohibited drugs. Aside from being a self-supporting student, I am also a virtual cademic assistant who provide assistance in terms of assignment and project completion, tutoring, report making, and knowledge widening on particular subjects and courses such as English, Language, Grammar, Philosophy, Literature, and the like. I also catered students from courses that are different to mine such as Marine students, Hospitality Industry students, Accounting students, and Engineering students. By catering to the academic needs of students, I was able to widen my knowledge and learnings enabling me to not just be limited to the knowledge that I am gaining in my particular course which is Psychology. In terms of my personality, I am a family-oriented individual who have always been dedicating everything I do to my family. I have a big heart for the idea of providing care to other people regardless of them being biologically related to me or not. I am eager to gain more experiences and knowledge that can help me in providing the best assistance that I can give to the famoly whom I will be working for. I always give my best self in everything that I do and I tend to maintain my interest and excitement to my job so that those people whom I work for benefit from me in the best way possible. Ever since I was a child, I have always been fond of the idea of being outside my country and interacting with people of different language and culture given my eagerness to learn about the way of living of other people and to extend the love and care that I have in me not just to my co-citizens but also to other people across the world. Given this, I can see this job as an appropriate one for me to have an opportunity to reach the goals that I had for my self ever since I was a kid. To the family who will be kind and loving enough to trust me to be a part of their family, I am already excited to meet each one of your members and I am so excited to extend the love in me to each one of you. I promise to give my very best in terms of catering to all your needs and if I will not be able to know everything that I have to know about this job, I know that the Lord will be faithful enough to guide me so that I can be the best version of myself to serve my future host family.
