Dear host family,
I am already very excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you.
My name is Junlyn. I am 32 years old and from the small city Cebu in Philippines. With my parents, Merlyn (54) and Jesus (57), and my brother Junmer (33) with his family with 3 daughters Moureen (10) Zowe (6) Celestine (2), John (25) and Jumarie (27) with his family with 3 sons Liam (7) Austin (2) Tyron (1), my sisters Jumelyn (29) and Jean (22), my grandparents Eladio (78) Teofista (74), I am living in a house that is located in an area full of nature. We have got 4 cats, 7 shitzhu dogs and 5 rabbits, who love to cuddle all day. My father retired early as he has health problems, my mother works as government employee. Jumarie is currently attending the 2nd year college, Jean is currently attending 2nd year college. Overall, we are a pretty large family, I have 7 cousins, ages 14-25 years old.
I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time with my friends; they are – as well as my family – very important to me. Always trying to help, I’m always there for them if they need me.
In my free time, I like to listen to music, helping household chores and assist my grandma who suffers stroke. Singing is one of my favorite hobbies and I am also doing karaoke at home as our family bonding every weekend. Furthermore, I also enjoy reading a good book about life, business and history .Every summer, my family will do a south tour of Cebu and going to the beach. At the moment, I work as an Asst. HR Manager in a retail industry. I enjoy this job very much, because I am able to bond with employees from hiring, to deployment. I used to own a small food business before but it stopped during pandemic that is my income for my family. Two years ago I applied as a foreign student for Canada at the same time to work there, I got my visa however the finances for my school, stay and other requirements I cannot provide as my family cannot afford it. Since I was at young age my parents trusted me to take good care of my siblings of all ages, I also took care of my Aunts son Tom2x (5) and Lance (2) during summer .I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them. When my two brothers was younger and sisters, I took care of them, when our mother and father was working. Through this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have children around and taking care of elderly, I can’t imagine a life without them.
The reason why I want to go to the USA, Canada or any country as an au pair is that I want to get to know the American way of life, Canadian way of life, or any country way of life as well as different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children, elderly and au pair. And of course, it would be great to improve my capabilities and skills as well.
I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids. I am looking forward to talking to you.
