Dear Future Host Family,

Hallo! I am a Filipina in search of my first family match. I've been longing to be an Aupair and I'm ready to be one soon. I am single with no child. I am a high school graduate from Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strand with an excellence award.

My work experience includes being an office secretary for a small insurance company for more than a year. Since the Philippines is an English-speaking country, I am very comfortable using it, especially with foreigners. I can cook simple meals and do household chores. I was also born in a Christian family so my upbringing was spiritually, mentally, and emotionally strong, hence, I can easily work under pressure and am expected to see commendable personality traits.

As I ask other people what adjective words they would describe me, most answers I get are ‘open-minded’, ‘creative’, ‘organized’, ‘funny’, ‘patient’, ‘family-oriented’, ‘religious, and ‘curious’. On the other side, based on how I view myself, I would definitely agree that I am very funny. I love laughing with the right people. As cliché as it is, “laughter is the best medicine” is one of my mantras!

Part of my routine is also making a to-do list before starting my day. On my rest days, I spent my time walking on the road and being mesmerized by nature – sunrise, sunsets, and flowers! This helps me to relax and keep a positive outlook on life. Since I love arts, if ever I am going to keep in touch with you in the future, I would love to make crafts with your family. Also, I'm not a picky eater. I love veggies so it’s expected that I'm in excellent health condition and I am!

I also have nieces and nephews with different age range that I took care of whenever their parents go for an errand or work. I have to attend to their needs such as playing with them, preparing their formula, and helping them with their schoolwork. And as for why I love working with children, the main reason is that they make me a more knowledgeable person. Children are, by nature, very curious. With all the questions they ask, I constantly find myself looking for answers in books and on the internet. Children make me a well-informed person and I enjoy conversing with them.

As a further matter, I want to introduce my family. I have a younger sister, her name is Azzeya and she is away from home for college. My mom and dad are taking the lead on our small farm which is the main source of our living. My family of four is close-knitted and I am blessed to have them. I am thankful because we are raised to be responsible and not be spoon-fed. At a young age, I was taught to help with household chores.

To end my letter, a quote caught my interest which reads, “Family is God’s greatest masterpiece”. This is very true, and I hope you would pick me to be part of your palette so I can add more color and vibrance to a masterpiece like your family.
