Dear Host Family,
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
My name is Cynthia and I am 22 years old. I have one step-brother and two sisters. I am living with my dad, my stepmother and my 6 year old step-nephew in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. At the moment, I am unemployed and just completed my bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management in December last year and I will graduate in July this year.
In my spare time, I love to paint and make crafts for house décor. I am very artistic and love baking. I take my nephew to school at 7:00 am and pick him up in the evening at 4:00 pm and assist him with his homework. At times I train my nephew and his friends to bake their favourite cookies and play hide and seek together and many more games. I also love reading and writing articles.
I would love to become your next Au Pair because I love children and enjoy spending time with them. I am prepared and I am well aware of the fact that being like a big sister for your children comes along with responsibilities for them and it will not always be just play and fun. My calm and patient personality will help me to master more difficult situations for instance when the kids are tired or don’t want to listen to me.
Living with me is really easy as I am not a demanding person. I do respect that the house is your house and that I have to follow your house rules. If something works not quite as it should, I prefer to talk instead of ignoring things.
I have never spent time abroad but I am used to not seeing my family for four to eight months when I was in university so I don’t think I will become home sick.
