Dear future host family,

Hi, my name is Sarah, 27 years old. I’m from the African motherland, specifically from Kenya.
I am a graduate, with a BA in International Studies. I would like to take this moment to express my interest and intention of looking for a family as an Au pair.

I would be honored to get a family that will be willing to host me for as long as 2 years. I am family oriented, from a humble background, and would love to work and grow with the family. I enjoy being around kids, it doesn’t matter the age, as I find them so fascinating, they bring joy and happiness to us, even on sad days, a child’s smile can help change one’s mood and feelings.
I love traveling, learning new languages and different cultures, meeting new people, and definitely making memories. Some of the countries I’ve been to include France-Paris, Spain (-Madrid, Pamplona), Egypt (I visited all cities while working on a project), Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Tanzania. My very calm, collected, patient, and quick learning always comes in handy when dealing with challenging situations. I can speak a bit of German, read and write it fluently. I enjoy listening to Spanish language, hence I can understand a bit of it too.

I would characterize my strength as an Au pair as the capacity to bond extremely well with children and to fit in very well, allowing me to be their mentor in various facets of life and to be like their older sister, as well as the ability to learn from my mistakes. On the other hand, my weakness as an Au pair is that I have a difficult time letting go of anything or someone since I become emotionally connected to children in particular and hence find it difficult to detach from them.
I'm looking for a host family who would be glad to have me as part of their family, who are kind and friendly, and who are eager to learn about various cultures and languages. I am searching for a long-term stay with my host family, possibly for a year or longer depending on the relationship I develop with the family.
