Good day to you and to your whole family! Thank you for reading my application and I am hoping for the opportunity to work in your family as your trusted nanny.
My name is Karen, 28 year-old and never married. I am raised in Aklan, Philippines. My loving parents are farmers to make living and they are both in their 60's. I am the youngest among my two brothers. I had a degree on Office Information Management in year 2015. Then the following 2016-2019 I work as Fubu Promodiser (clothing wear sales) in my hometown province in Aklan.
I decided to leave Philippines to seek better income in overseas and to gain experiences in caregiver life career where I can pursue my dream to work in Canada in the future.
On July 2019, I came in Hong Kong to work in my first employer, with a 5 members of family including a 35 year-old son that has a disability (hydrocephalus). Together with three helpers and my main duties was to assisted the needs of the disabled man such as; changing diapers, cleansing his body, changed clothing/beddings, and other household chores. after 6 months in my job, the disabled man deteriorated his health condition and died. On January 2020, my employer released me and I continues to find a new employer.
On June 2020, I started working in my current employer and they are 3 members in the family with a 4 year-old girl and we are two helpers. My main duties is to assisting and caring the girl including cook and served meals, help to get up from bed and prepare her to go to school, prepare her bag and things that she needed, bring and fetch at the school and extra activities, playing, tutoring her homework, bathing and grooming, put her in bed and do the other house hold chores and taking care with one dog. My daily routine will start at 6:00am to 10:00pm from Monday to Sunday but sometimes I would take a day off once or twice a month. My 2nd contract with them will finish on June 2024 and I would continue to work with them until my application got approved. I opened up with them about my plan to work in other country (Canada) and they didn't hesitate to support me. I love and respected my employers as they treated me as their family.
My working experiences with my previous and current families taught me what truly matters in life. I believe that choosing and learn something new every day will give me a reason to grown and change.
