Introduction
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me.
I have spent more than 30 years caring for, teaching, and supporting children and families. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working as a Montessori educator, school administrator, professional nanny, and family assistant. Whether in a classroom or a private home, my greatest joy has always been helping children feel safe, confident, understood, and genuinely excited about learning and life.
I believe children thrive when they are treated with kindness, respect, consistency, and encouragement. My approach is calm, patient, and nurturing while also providing the structure and boundaries children need to feel secure. Every child is unique, and I enjoy getting to know each child's individual personality, interests, strengths, and learning style so I can support their growth in the way that works best for them.
As a nanny and family assistant, I understand that my role is about much more than childcare. I enjoy helping busy households run smoothly by managing schedules, transportation, homework, meal preparation, organization, children's laundry, errands, and the countless day-to-day details that make family life easier. I naturally anticipate needs, communicate proactively with parents, and believe that no task is too big or too small when contributing to a happy, well-organized home.
My Montessori background has given me a deep appreciation for fostering independence, curiosity, problem-solving, creativity, and confidence. I especially enjoy reading with children, exploring nature, doing arts and crafts, swimming, cooking together, playing games, encouraging outdoor adventures, and turning everyday moments into opportunities for learning and connection.
Over the years, I have worked closely with parents, teachers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals to support children with a wide variety of learning styles, personalities, and developmental needs. These experiences have strengthened my ability to remain patient, adaptable, observant, and encouraging while helping children build confidence and resilience.
Families often describe me as warm, dependable, organized, trustworthy, flexible, and easy to communicate with. I value open, honest communication and believe the strongest relationships are built on mutual respect, teamwork, and trust. I enjoy working alongside involved parents and other household staff and genuinely appreciate becoming a reliable, long-term source of support for the families I serve.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing, kayaking, hiking, swimming, cooking, traveling, and spending time with animals. I am also a published children's author, which reflects my lifelong passion for childhood, literacy, imagination, and learning.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English, am Montessori certified in both Primary (3–6) and Infant/Toddler education, and maintain current CPR and First Aid certification. I have a valid passport, a clean driving record, and am comfortable traveling both domestically and internationally.
More than anything, I am looking for a family with whom I can build a genuine, long-term relationship. It is an incredible privilege to be invited into a family's life, and I never take that responsibility lightly. My goal is always to provide children with a safe, loving, engaging environment while offering parents the confidence and peace of mind that their children are receiving exceptional care.
Thank you for considering my application. I would be honored to learn more about your family and discuss how I can support your children and your home.
Warmly,
Elizabeth
