Introduction
My name is Priscilla, and I am a 27 year old qualified midwife from Ghana. I am incredibly excited about the possibility of joining your family as your au pair. I would love to share a bit about who I am, my professional background, and why I want to embark on this journey.
Growing up, I was always surrounded by children, which inspired my passion for working with them.
After completing my midwifery studies, I began working with newborns, mothers, and growing families during my 1 year national service which is compulsory for every graduate in the health sector. My medical and clinical training has equipped me with a unique set of skills that goes beyond standard childcare. I am highly comfortable with newborn routines, feeding, sleep training, bathing, and tracking developmental milestones. My background has made me calm, highly observant, and well-prepared to handle emergencies, fevers, or minor injuries.
Working as a midwife requires a lot of patience, clear communication, and a nurturing approach. I know how to listen to children and support them through big emotions. Outside of my professional life, I am a very active, creative, and open-minded person. In my free time, I love to listen to music, watch dramas and reading novels. I am also very passionate about experiencing new cultures and would love to learn about your traditions while sharing some of my own from Ghana.
I decided to become an au pair because I want to take a meaningful break from the hospital setting to broaden my horizons, improve my language skills, and form a lifelong bond with a family abroad. I am a responsible, tidy, and reliable person, and I would be more than happy to help with light household duties, meal preparation, and keeping the children's areas organized.
I am looking forward to becoming a positive, supportive "big sister" to your children and an active, contributing member of your household.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I would love to schedule a video call with you to answer any questions you might have.
Warmly,
Priscilla
