Needing Senior Care. You will have use of our car and can work your free time around their needs if possible. Our parents are in their 80's. My father is self-sufficient for the most part, taking care of himself, but he does need some help sometimes. He still drives. Our mother had back surgery and since has mobility issues. Half the time, she needs help getting on the potty chair, and others need diaper changing. She does use the walker for short distances. She will need help getting out of bed, getting washed, and getting dressed to get the day started. She needs a bath a few times a week with thorough bathing help (the nooks and crannies). At times, they may not need assistance for hours, but generally, they need bathroom use for my mother, meals, cleaning help, etc. In the evening, she will need assistance getting prepared and to bed. The Pay is $500 a week and can be negotiated after several months of performance. Generally, the schedule is morning, 1 hr of assistance to get her up and dressed and make breakfast. Then you are free for several hours. repeat 3 more times till bed, where she needs support, meals, etc, then assistance to bed. Your free time needs to be around their needs, and you can request time off in advance for a family member to cover a prearranged time off. room and main meals are included.
