My parents live independently but are both starting to struggle with their age. My mom has recently been diagnosed with dementia and my dad who is her main caregiver is really struggling with her. We are looking for someone who is older, compassionate, capable and who is strong enough to deal with a patient who has Dementia. Both my parents do their own bathing, dressing and general well being, but most importantly, my mom’s medication is not being administered correctly and if my dad is not around, she is not eating either. Unfortunately they do both struggle with alcohol and I am looking at a way to manage this. I need someone who can attend clinic visits with them and then give my siblings and I correct and thorough feedback. They will also need to be able to take control of the medication and administration of that. There will be a reliable vehicle available for the right person and if we look at live in, they will have their own private flat let on the property.
