We are advertising on behalf of our lovely Grandparents who are very capable but after some falls recently and recovery from a stroke, need full time care to make sure that their health improves.

The live-in caregiver is a permanent ongoing role that requires the dedication of a loyal and caring personality that can build a great relationship with them. Our nana is also showing early stages of Alzheimers (short term memory loss) but this is manageable and we forsee this to remain so for quite some time.

The role is to manage the evenings and nights for when they need to use the bathroom, most of which they are able to do independently but some assistance is required. As this is ad hoc, it would be an on call function via the next door bedroom and would still allow for the caregiver to get good rest throughout the evening we anticipate at this stage.

We are initially thinking that another care giver will be attending during the day to give the option for this role to have flexibility for work/life outside of the house balance. However there is also the option to work throughout the day in that function if preferred too. We will be able to discuss with flexibility for the right candidate.

The house is in a central location in Wellington for buses and to reach the CBD (10 mins) and has an incredible view! It will be very comfortable as live in accomodation.

We are looking for a proactive, mature, reliable, warm, caring person who will take it on as their own personal duty to take care of our grandparents as if their own family! The wider family are on call in the city to help provide support if needed too.
