Senior care giver for our 87 year-old mom.
Mom, Diane, lives in a senior living place, but requires 1:1 attention and companion. Diane struggles with her memory and has been diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's. She is a very lovely and sweet lady who loves to laugh and have fun. She responds well to love and attention and needs someone who can display genuine love, kindness, and patience. Due to her condition, she can't walk by herself and often feels lost. Therefore, it is important that the senior care taker is skilled in re-shifting and can give Diane the feeling of safety and love at all times, specially when not surrounded by family.

Diane has a son and a daugher. Diane's daughter, Amie, and her family live only a few minutes away, and they regularly visit Diane. Diane's son, Michael, lives in the US but speaks to mom on regular basis.
Diane is VERY loved by her family, and needs to feel that the person caring for her, is a dear friend, like an extended family.

This position is primarily a companion position as it doesn't NOT require meal preparation, driving, and/or cleaning. The senior care giver will be responsible to: take mom for daily walks (wheelchair), talk to her, read newspapers, play games, help her to get to bed, do crafts together, keep her entertained and safe.

The ideal candidate is a loving, kind, caring, patient, reliable, responsible lady who has some experience with Dementia. The 1:1 attention is the key element to this position. Diane is very sensitive and has the need to feel loved at all times. This is a full-time position with the possibility to earn additional income if willing to work extra hours.
