We're looking for a caregiver for my 96-yearold dad who is in an Independent Living facility. He will need help with personal hygiene, changing clothes, changing adult diapers, showering, shaving, and walking. Looking for approximately 10-12 hours per day from 8:30 am - 7:30 pm, no overnight stays. Some flexibility on this and will consider candidates who can work 4-5 days a week, or fewer hours per day. In this case we would look for another caregiver to cover those times.

Dad has mild memory issues but can function fairly well. He has some incontinence issues and recently started wearing adult diapers that he'll need help changing as well as help dressing. He's had a few falls so we need someone who can help keep him safe while moving around throughout the day. He likes to take short walks outside when it's nice, inside when cold. Meals and light housekeeping are provided by the facility, and my brother does the laundry, shopping, appointments, etc. We can arrange for your meals at the facility if you like.

In addition to senior caregiving experience, we prefer someone with some nursing, EMT, or first aid skills. We prefer someone with a car but, the facility is approximately 1/2 mile from the New Canaan train station if you don't mind a short walk. My brother might also be able to pick you up during inclement weather.
