Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and patient Senior Care Provider to care for our 75-year-old mother who has dementia. The ideal candidate will assist with personal care, daily activities, meal preparation, and light household duties, while providing companionship and engaging her in stimulating activities. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who will be a warm, supportive presence in our family’s life.

Responsibilities:
Personal Care Assistance:

Aid with daily hygiene routines, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
Assist with dressing and maintaining personal appearance.
Meal Preparation and Nutrition:

Prepare nutritious and balanced meals tailored to dietary needs.
Assist with feeding, if necessary, ensuring a positive mealtime experience.
Engagement and Companionship:

Spend quality time engaging in meaningful conversations.
Organize and participate in stimulating activities to support cognitive health, such as puzzles, music, arts and crafts, or short walks (as appropriate).
Light Household Duties:

Assist with light cleaning and organizing, including laundry and tidying up living spaces.
Perform household tasks as needed to maintain a comfortable environment.
Occasional Overnight Care:

Be available for occasional overnight stays when family members are on trips or attending events.
General Support:

Monitor and ensure safety within the home.
Communicate effectively with family members about any changes in health or behavior.
Requirements:
Experience in senior care, particularly with dementia or memory care.
Positive, patient, and compassionate demeanor.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage in meaningful interactions.
Dependable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a family-oriented environment.
First Aid and CPR certification (preferred but not mandatory).
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred but not required).

Live-In or Live-Out Option: Flexible arrangements based on the caregiver’s availability and preferences.
Schedule: Flexible hours with occasional overnights for family trips.

Case Worker Certified Nursing Assistant Licensed RN
Nursing Intern Nursing Student Physical Therapy
Physician's Assistant Practicing RN Senior Care Companion
Must be experienced working with these types of special needs
Alzheimer's Arthritis Dementia
Diabetes Digestive Disorders Epilepsy
Hearing Impairment Immobility Obesity
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Parkinson's Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Respiratory Issues Sleep Disorder Visual Impairment
Provider must have the following skills or certifications
Behavioral Issues Bonded CPR
First Aid Insured Licensed
NAPGGM Certified NACCM Certified

Must be comfortable working with 2 people

Requirements
