I am looking for one full time and one part time person to help me care for my husband. He has Parkinson’s and had a traumatic brain injury in the Fall of 2020. He needs someone with him around the clock as he is a fall risk. We need someone who can quickly catch a 135 pound person who is falling, help them back up, and help them move. He can be mobile and likes to walk around the house so someone has to be following him or go on walks outside with a safety harness someone would hold. Depending on medication, he needs help with eating and using the restroom as well as dressing himself. He does sleep frequently so there is lots of down time to read, etc where we just need someone in the room with him. He does have communication issues at time. We live in Juneau, Alaska. We would like the person to ideally start March 1st as our current caregiver is leaving soon and my daughter and I would love for you to train with him. My husband was a local radio guy, musician, balloon artist, magician, and a true part of the community and we want to be able to keep him at home as long as possible. Thank you.
