Hello and thank you for reading through the information. We have a very curious, sweet, well mannered and fun-spirited three-year-old boy who has just started preschool. We are a family with two working fathers, one a psychologist and one a children's television producer. We have been living in Portugal for 3 years. We love spending time with our son, but juggling work can be tricky. We spend our most time with him in the early mornings, evening time for bath and bedtime, and weekends. At the moment we start his day early enough to get him ready for school. Because of our work schedule, late afternoons after school and early evenings are often booked with meetings with clients from other countries. This means that after school we need assistance caring for him until bath and bedtime--this includes helping with dinner. We are in the process of purchasing a larger house about a 6 minute walk away from Praia do Alemão between Portimão and Alvor, which will have a 1br separate 1br au pair apartment. We should be closing on that house in the next few weeks, latest by early October. If would would like to start in September and need live-in conditions, our current house in Albufeira has one guest bedroom that could serve as your room until we move into the new house next month. We look forward to discussing options with you, as we are open to both live-in and live-out nannies. Side note: we will not be able to assist interested applicants with residence or work permits. You must be able to reside and work in the country legally on your own.

The position focuses on after school care and occasional weekend care. Responsibilities include picking our son up from preschool, support school learning when appropriate, play with him, read to him, teach him new things, and prepare warm dinners for him. Please also help us keep his play areas neat and organized.
