Family's Introduction to Nanny
We are a family of 4, two working professionals with our son and daughter, and a small dog.
James is a very active 10 year old who loves the outdoors, hiking, biking, animals, music, science, math, reading, playing with legos, swimming, jiu jitsu, and watching Star Wars shows. James’ strengths are bouncing back quickly, being curious about everything, being a good eater, and his quick mind. His weaknesses are getting distracted from his tasks or refusing to do them. He does love to make deals for new books, screen time or going to do fun activities though, so that is usually where we come to an agreement. I wouldn’t call him “easy” but he’s a great kid.
Camila is 7, and she loves all animals (both stuffed and real), reading, drawing, painting, doing fun crafts, riding her bike, and swimming. Her strengths are her compassion and tenderness. Her weaknesses are she is sometimes stubborn (she’s very tired if that happens) and she’s a very picky eater. We can usually satisfy her with Mac and cheese or chicken nuggets and rice if she won’t eat what the rest of the family is eating. snacks for her are usually apples, nuts and cheese. She finally learned to like pizza, so I have hope she will continue to expand her palate.
We have a small Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Monty. Monty will let you know when he needs to go out. If there’s fence he is allowed to stay outside. Without a fence, he must be taken out on a leash. Most of the day though, he will either sleep or follow you around. He loves to be in some nice person’s lap.
We’re not sure what life will be like yet, so what we are looking for in a nanny is someone who is an experienced driver (in case our daughter misses the bus), someone who can adapt to changes, likes animals, and who knows how to take charge of kids and be firm, but also fair.
