Hi I am Vi. I value those moments the physical acts of caring is the most I loved about taking care of young children. In these acts of caring each other that what makes us human. Above my reflection as long as have been caring young children for years. The spotlight of my days are interactions with the children. When I respect the children by smile kneel down than talk to the children in eyes level, changing the positive guidance how to deal with them as they learn to trust me. It is satisfied to see how enthusiast, curious response of young children who absorb everything I give them as I get excited as they do. In conclusion childhood should be playful.
I had worked as a Nanny in Africa, Dubai/Abu Dhabi, Europe, Nanny for American diplomat. Before Nanny I was a Toddler, Pre Nursery, Preschool teacher in International school, Grade 1 teacher and Private Tutor for Kindergarten-Grade 3 in Indonesia.
My background is Bachelor's of Art Degree in Literature, a trained Teacher and certified in Early Childhood Education. Who passionately enjoy nurturing young children. My passion drove me to attend some educational seminars, workshops as well as joined Early Childhood Education class from one of the accredited Singapore Institution as resulted completely transformed the way I thought and in concrete action equipped me to work more effectively with young children.
I am willing to support parent as well give the best for kids. Affectionately I enjoy being parts in children process of learning and growing in areas of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social developmental stages. So an energetic Vi has huge of imagination and creativities to nurture your beloved kids with fun hands on educational activities as well as integrated with academic school lessons in daily routine. It's definitely rewarding to contribute quality time with your family. I believe in nothing help deepen knowledge as effectively as sharing it. In addition when we give cheerfully and accept gratefully everyone is blessed.
Eg:5in daily lives, we are constantly measuring things, time, distance, etc. When I was in the kitchen, I found to be the initiator of a child's learning. When I asked Vanesa who is below 2 years old how many steps do you need to get from the kitchen door to the front door? I gave her example first, we were counting together 1 step, 2 steps, etc, until we reached the front door. Yeah 12 steps Continue I offer some choices with something that she can relate to such with giant steps, hop or jump. It's become a purposeful activity when I used measuring tape to estimate with actual measurement. I asked her what do you enjoy doing with your feet. She responded by saying tip toe like a Ballerina then she got a new idea, she went upstairs, open the costume closet, worn a ballet outfit, went downstairs then turn on classic Mozart's CD by saying this is my Dada song, she was spinning than come over me continue to did tip toe. I extended her imagination by show her the basic ballet movements that we can practice than the other day we were watching Angelina Ballerina together. Those experiences made my day become rewarding day.
Regarding the positive guidance Eg:When I taught Lala who is 1.5 years old. She often climb onto the cabinet. I reminded her to put her feet on the floor. But she did it again, I looked at her eyes, kneel down to her position, stated what I want to expect, explain why she shouldn’t be doing it, stated the obvious consequence, stated that I want her to be safe and distract/offer choice of activities. After I said I spy with my little eye. I saw delicious cupcake inside the oven, she looked at me, walk forward to me. Finally, I gave her reward by saying I am happy the way you are cooperative, let’s do Hi5,hugs&smile after she followed the instruction. In this situation she’s learning the consequence of those actions. She may push the boundaries I put in place for her, but she’s learning where those boundaries are and how she impacts her decisions. This experience made my day become rewarding day again
