Family's Introduction to Au Pair

Au Pair Duties
In addition to attending weekly Mandarin classes, au pairs in China provide basic childcare and English tutoring up to 30 hours per week but no more than 7 hours per day for your host children. An au pair's responsibilities are limited to childcare related tasks. Your duties may vary depending on your host children's needs.

Au Pair China Benefits
Stipend – Earn a monthly minimum stipend of RMB 1500 yuan, paid by the host family, plus room and board.
Support – Receive support from your Local Coordinator and the team throughout your program term.
Travel – Enjoy traveling in China during your spare time.
Insurance – Receive Travel and Accident Insurance coverage.
Education – Receive 4 in-person Mandarin classes each week.
Cultural Activities
China is recognized as one of the four great ancient civilizations of the world, together with ancient Egypt, Babylon and India. Moreover, China is the only ancient civilization that has continued its traditional customs to this very day.

The long-term continuation of Chinese civilization has benefited from the three great reforms adopted in 1978 as part of its economic development strategy. As a result, today, we find a Chinese culture with a more modern charm taking shape.

As an au pair in China, once a month, you will participate in a scheduled, outdoor Chinese cultural activity, experiencing the most unique characteristics of Chinese culture in your host city. Topics such as Taiji, Traditional Chinese Painting, Calligraphy, and Music are just some of the Chinese cultural activities that you'll be able to enjoy. Au Pairs who participate in the many cultural events get the most out of their educational experience and leave China with a deeper understanding of its customs and traditions.

Learn Mandarin
You will receive four Mandarin classes each week, based on your present Mandarin level. Classes are taught in person by our native Mandarin teachers. You will be supported to progress through more advanced levels as your Mandarin improves. You should end your program with at least basic conversational Mandarin.

Au Pair Travel & Accident Insurance
You're sure to have an incredible adventure during your stay in the China. But to be on the safe side, we're also looking out for your health and well-being. That's why we provide you with comprehensive travel and accident coverage throughout your stay. So, when you need medical attention, you'll have peace of mind, knowing you have chosen a plan with quality coverage that's easy to use.
