We our a family of 4 living by the ocean and mountains of central North Vancouver. We live in North Vancouver because we love the outdoor lifestyle available to us here but we are also only a short distance to a culture of great food and entertainment in the city of Vancouver. We have 2 girls who love to ride their bikes, play with their neighbours and splash in the creek on our local forest trail. They have loved all the AuPairs we have had over the last couple years. We love the cultural exchange of the AuPair program but also want an AuPair who sets a good example and is a role model to our children. Here are the words in an ad our first AuPair wrote for us: "They are very chill and easygoing, they will support and help you in everything you need, and the job gives you a lot of free time. The girls are smart and funny and being with them is very enjoyable."

Please only apply if you are already in Canada or have a working holiday visa that allows you to work with children in Canada. We will have a contract in place and do want a minimum commitment from September 2023 - end of June 2024.

Main Duties:
1. Help preparing children for school and walking them to school.
2. Picking up children from school and afterschool care - help with homework, practice of violin, playing and activities and provide snacks. (help with dinner as required)
Details of Duties:
* Prepare age appropriate meals and snacks for the children
• Fill and empty the dishwasher. Dry and put away dishes/kitchen items.
• Empty trash in your bedroom and bathroom in the bags inside bins.
• Clean-up after oneself, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms
• Keep living spaces clean and tidy on a normal basis (fold blankets, straighten pillows, put away items, etc.)
• Bring in mail and packages for the household
• Help tidy and put away kid’s things around the house or from the car
• Help put away family groceries (if they come when you are home and on-duty)
• Tidy up around the house (hang-up coats, fix pillows, put things away that collect on the stairs or counters...etc...).
• Help tidy after dinner, clearing table, washing/drying dishes or putting dishes in dishwasher, sweeping and wiping down table or counters. We will do this as a team effort.

* Lots of free time during the day and most weekends off (we may just ask if you can watch the children once a month so mom & dad can escape for a dinner alone!)
* We have house cleaners come to house every 2 weeks to clean all bathrooms, the kitchen and floors, we don’t expect the AuPair to house clean just to help keep the house tidy and help with general day to day clean up with dishes and sweeping the floor as needed.
