Dear Au Pair,

We are greatly looking forward to welcoming you to our family! This will be an exciting time for you to explore America, learn about another culture, perfect your English and get to have fun playing and caring for little ones. Our home is in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PA) suburbs, which is between NYC & Washington DC; both are just a short road trip away. We love to explore, have travelled extensively, domestically & internationally, and would love to show you around! We can’t wait to hear about your culture and country and look forward to introducing you to our two boys who will welcome you with open arms! Our adorable young boys, Vincent Jr (AKA “Big Bro Vin”) and “Baby Michael,” soon to be 7 and 4, and they’re baby brother David are excited to have a “Big Sister!” Little Vincent just finished first grade and is a very active, smart and fun boy who loves to play outside. Michael is a sweet, loving little guy who just started school and gets along with everyone! They & “easy” baby David will melt your heart!

My name is Lily and my husband is Vincent. We will be working or running errands during the weekday. A typical day for you may start from 7/8am and go until 5/6pm from Monday through Friday. Vincent Sr. and I like to go out for “date nights” and may ask you to take care of the children on an occasional Friday night or Saturday morning/night. If the boys have academic or extracurricular programs or activities that will take up midday time you will most likely have mid day breaks with associated slightly early/later mornings/evenings. We would ask for flexibility and would also work to be as flexible as possible with you. As a family, we love to explore and sight-see, have movie and game nights together and bake/cook together. You would always be welcomed to join in whenever you would like! And of course, we would help guide you should you want to find ways to explore the area on your own as, the choice will always be yours.

Our home sits on a beautiful 2 acre property in a retreat like setting. It will be like having the best of both worlds, living in the country but also minutes away to wonderful shopping, restaurants, universities and entertainment, not to mention a car ride away from Philadelphia! We have an in-ground heated salt water pool and attached hot tub which you would be welcomed to use. We would provide you with a private living area on a wing of a separate floor that includes a private lockable door, separate hallway to private bath, walk in closets, plenty of cabinets, and a private bedroom that walks out to the backyard. Additionally, we would provide you access to a car.

The best au pair we could ask for is one that has a lot of love in their heart for our children, and one that is honest, kind, patient, creative with the kids and fun-loving. Communication is very important towards building and maintaining great relationships, hence we encourage you to bring any questions, comments, or concerns early on so that we may all resolve them and not let things fester.
