About Our Family:
We are a loving and active family living in Sedley, Virginia, with six wonderful children, including two sets of twins. Our children range in age, and they bring lots of joy and energy to our home! As parents, we have busy professional lives, and we value family time, education, and fun. We’re looking for an au pair who will become part of our family, providing nurturing care and positive energy while helping us manage daily routines.
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking an au pair who loves working with children and can help maintain a structured yet fun environment. Our ideal au pair is responsible, energetic, patient, and creative. They should enjoy both indoor activities (crafts, reading, helping with homework) and outdoor adventures (playing in the yard, going for walks, exploring parks). Since we are a large, diverse family, someone who is culturally curious and adaptable is important. A good sense of humor and flexibility will go a long way!

Responsibilities:

Childcare (primary responsibility):
Assist with caring for our six children, with a focus on creating a fun, safe, and educational environment.
Help with morning and evening routines (preparing meals, getting ready for school, bath time, etc.).
Engage in playtime activities, crafts, reading, and outdoor play.
Help with homework and educational tasks.
Light meal prep for the children (breakfast, snacks, lunch).
Drive the children to/from school or activities (if licensed and comfortable with driving).
Light Housekeeping:
Tidy up after meals, toys, and play areas.
Assist with children’s laundry.
Help keep common areas and children’s rooms organized and clean.
Schedule:

Generally, [insert number] hours per week with 1-2 days off.
Flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends if we need extra help.
We are open to discussing exact hours to create a schedule that works for both our family and the au pair.

Requirements:

Must love working with children and have previous childcare experience.
Be adaptable, patient, and energetic.
Languages: English proficiency (basic to fluent); other languages are a plus.
Valid driver’s license preferred (or willingness to get one).
Non-smoker.
Ability to commit for at least 12 months.
Be comfortable living in a small town but willing to travel for fun outings and family adventures.

Hi. We are a large family looking for someone to watch our children as we work and also provide light housekeeping. Our oldest child is 17 and 100% independent. He provides a lot of help for his younger siblings. Light cooking also expected or at least the ability to heat up meals I have previously prepared.
