Dear Candidate,
To describe my family a little bit, echoing some of the underlying theme of the job description, we are a fairly laid-back family. I typically work 50 to 60 hours a week, so my wife needs a little bit of extra help with the attending to the children prior to me getting home. We are the kind of people that prefer being outside if that's possible. So whether playing some kind of sport, hanging around the pool, taking a walk or hike in the woods or just relaxing outback next to a fire, we just try to relax as much as possible while we're home.  
We tend to take one or two vacations a year, along with a good amount of weekends spent at our Lakehouse, which is located about two hours away from our home. The majority of these days, my son and I are out fishing or if we're all playing on the dock or in the water.   In the evenings, it's sitting by a campfire, where we try to relax and enjoy each other's company. So whether at home, lake or the beach, we are a family who prefer to be outside, at least when the weather is nice.

Fun and active family needs help taking care of our 4 Y.O. Daughter and 7 Y.O. Son. Will provide a new vehicle to help with various requests, such as grocery shopping, picking kids up from school along with any personal needs the au pair (AP) will have. During summer break, the AP will be needed to be the primary care giver for the kids during typical work hours Tue.-Thur. 9:00am - 5::00 pm. Considering we have a pool, it would be preferred the AP knows how to swim, but it’s not a dealbreaker.
We do also have two dogs, that will need to let outside periodically and provided food/water. Another task, where the AP may need to contribute would be help making meals. This includes breakfast for kids in the morning, perhaps even making their lunches for school/daycare, along with helping out with dinner preparation.
Some other responsibilities, where either my wife or myself may request help may include:
……Help keeping the house clean
……Help doing dishes after meals
……Help with entertaining the kids when im not home. Mom needs a break sometimes. When dad is home, this likely won’t be needed. For little free time I have I try to spend playing with them.
……perhaps needing to go and run an errand, or pick up food for dinner, or picking up the kids from school.
As far as living arrangements, the AP would basically have their own apartment in the basement. There is a huge bedroom with a private full bathroom. There is also a large family room, just outside the bedroom, with a ~90 inch TV. Also has a separate entrance to outside of house.
As far as the pay, that’s negotiable, for the "right" person im not remotely worried about the money, as long as we find the perfect personality to fit with my children.  So regarding many of these listed additional skills, certifications and experiences, they would all be great for the AP to possess but most importantly for me is the AP works well with our children. The only exception may be "knows how to swim", with the majority of April through September (at least Friday- Sunday) we will either be relaxing out by the pool, going down to lake house or on vacation at a beach, and all involve water.   We are a carefree and laidback family, so a sense of humor might be nice with keeping things light and enjoyable. It’s important to me that I see smiles on my children’s faces. The best part of my day (every day) is that 30 seconds when I first get home and my kids welcome me with a scream of  "Yeah Daddy's Home" and they each give me a big hug.  It's important to me that we all laugh together at least a few times every day.
