Family's Introduction to Au Pair
We are the family and we look forward to welcoming you into our home and our family. We are excited to have someone bring their culture to us and our children and to offer ours to you as well!
We live in Lower Merion, a suburb of Philadelphia in the state of Pennsylvania. Lower Merion is 10 minutes from “Center City,” the busy bustling downtown of Philly. We live only a few blocks away from St. Joseph’s University, where many au pairs attend classes. Our neighborhood is beautiful and historic, with many old homes dating back to the 1800’s. We love it here, and think it’s a great place for our family and a visitor such as yourself.
We have a small and fun family. I am Naomi and my husband is Josh. We have a set of 8 year old twins. Zakai and Aiden are both energetic and adorable little boys. They are on a pretty set schedule, which they respond well to. We also have a 6 year old, Ezra, who is a lot of fun. And a 3 year old named Layla.
Both Josh and I work 5 days a week, and while each of our schedules are flexible in their own way, we need someone who we trust to take care of the boys during the day. Josh works for a computer technology firm mostly from home. I work as an attorney in Philadelphia, about 15 minutes from the house, but usually work from home. Josh usually works from 8:30 to 5:30. The kids are all in school/camp during the day.
Your main responsibility will be looking after the kids. We would also like you to do some light house duties, mainly the kids’ laundry and dishes.
You will have your own bedroom and would share a bathroom with the twins. You will also have a TV in your room. We do not have any pets and we do not smoke.
Weekends would be time for you to have to yourself, except on special occasions such as birthdays or the occasional night out. We are Sabbath observers, so our Friday nights and Saturdays are time that we spend home with family, at Synagogue or having meals with friends. If you drive, you are more than welcome to use our car during that time.
Our hope is to have an au pair whom we trust with our children, and who can bring something to our home. We are easy-going people, and our children are everything to us, so we want someone who will take care of them with love, care and caution. We are always happy to answer any questions, as we believe communication is key in a relationship.
We hope to meet you soon and look forward to welcoming you to our home and our family!
Best,
Naomi
