Family's Introduction to Au Pair
We have a very busy family and have 4 children. Our 2 oldest kids are in school Monday - Friday. Our oldest son is very caring and sensitive and is always looking to help or make people happy. Our middle daughter is very independent and a risk taker. Her and her oldest brother are best friends and share a room. Sometimes they share a bed. The youngest 2 are twins and are have begun exploring the house, running, climbing and eager to learn. Overall the kids are extremely active and have tonnes of energy, requiring a lot of stimulation. Some of the activities they enjoy doing are hiking, bike riding, swimming, playing at the beach, playing in the snow, skiing, arts and crafts, dancing, soccer, ballet, gymnastics, rock climbing, exploring. My wife and I tend to follow a similar pattern as the kids and are always busy with the kids and doing the above. We both work in the medical field where I work with commercializing novel medical technology and my wife works as a manual practitioner. I like working around the house and exploring new places with the family and my wife enjoys arts, crafts and playing games with the kids.
We like to celebrate the holidays with family. Our immediate family lives ~5hrs away by plane in Canada. Vacation time is often combined with trips home to see our extended family. We like to do day trips at least once a month out to the coast or out towards the taller mountains and will take extended trips a couple times a year. We've rented cottages or have gone back to our family's cottage up in Canada.

Job Description
Our two oldest kids are now in school full time, Monday-Friday. Our au pair's primary responsibility will be to help out with the twins during week, taking them to the zoo, going for walks, hikes, bike rides, various organized activities, swimming along with indoor activities, like the library, gymnastics, arts and crafts, drawing, colouring, and different learning exercises. My wife works part time and will be around to help our au pair with the two kids. There will also be days where you may need to help out during bed time or are needed to simply help organize the kids' activities and preparing for the days or weeks ahead. We are looking for someone whom we can trust and spend time with - someone our kids can look up to and think of as a big sister or aunt. This is the most important aspect of the job - engaging with our kids and being their best friend. Learn what they like and don't like; do your hair and nails together; build things together; go places together; make memories together.
Our au pair should be someone my wife and I can consider as part of our family - our home is your home :)
