Live-In Au Pair Position in Austin, TX – Helping Care for Two Wonderful Girls
Location: Austin, Texas
Start Date: Flexible
Compensation: Weekly stipend, private bedroom and bathroom, separate vehicle for use, meals included, lots of free time off.
About Our Family:
We are a warm, fun-loving family looking for an experienced and caring au pair to help with our two young daughters. As a full-time single dad, I need an extra set of hands to assist with morning and evening routines during the weekdays, along with some light household help. My girls are in school from 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday, so the primary responsibilities will be before and after school. We want our au pair to feel like part of the family and join in on the fun things we do together!
Responsibilities:
• Morning Routine: Help get the girls ready for school, prepare breakfast, pack lunches, and assist with drop-off if needed.
• After-School Care: Pick up from school when necessary, supervise homework, prepare snacks, and engage in fun activities.
• Evening Routine: Help with dinner preparation, bath time, and bedtime as needed.
• Driving: Occasionally drive the children to and from school, activities, or playdates (a separate vehicle will be provided).
• Light Household Help: Focused on tasks related to the children—tidying up their spaces, helping with their laundry, and assisting with meal prep.
• Family Involvement: Join us in family activities, weekend outings, and occasional trips if interested.
Ideal Candidate:
• Warm, responsible, and energetic, nurturing caretaker that is patient and understanding yet firm and strong in providing young developing little girls with Structure and setting boundaries while still giving them enough freedom to be creative and free spirited. Happy to be focussed on a project but also enjoys being silly and goofing around enjoying playtime.
• Experienced in childcare (previous au pair, nanny, or babysitting experience preferred)
• Safe and confident driver with a valid driver’s license
• Organized and proactive in helping with routines
• Willing to be part of our family and share in our adventures
• Enjoys music and has experience with playing a musical instrument is a plus.
• Enjoys gardening and being active in the outdoors.
• Someone that can be present and not spend all their time looking at their phone, electronic device or TV all day long, there is a wonderful life to live not spending too much time looking at screens. This helps set a good example for young children to stay active and socially engaged with others rather than a slave to their phones.
