Dear host family,
My name is Tafadzwa, but my friends and family call me Taffie. I am a 24 years old girl and I
live in Chinhoyi, a small town in Zimbabwe, a beautiful country in Africa.
I am an open-minded, hard-working, easy-going, dedicated, trustworthy, helpful, patient, and
responsible person. I love taking care of kids and their health, safety, and happiness are the
most important to me.
I come from a large family, being one of 19 grandchildren, being the eldest. My mother is one of
4 and half my family lives in Zambia since my mother is of Zambian origin. My father is a
technician assistant and my mother is a housewife! I am part of a very close family, and as a
result my close inner circle of friend is also often viewed as ‘family’ and my best friend is my
sister. I cherish and value my friendships; choosing to surround myself with loyal and fun
people.
I recently graduated from the Catholic University of Zimbabwe, with a Bachelor of Social
Science degree in Development Studies. I am currently working as a kindergarten teacher and a
local preschool. I love traveling, learning new languages and different cultures, meeting new
people, and definitely making memories. My very calm, collected, patient, and quick learning
always comes in handy when dealing with challenging situations.
My hobbies include driving around exploring new places, swimming, camping and hiking.
Indoors I enjoy cooking and baking (being raised by a house wife), I love to read and write
sometimes and I watch television but not too much. I also watch sport and I cannot wait to learn
all about American football.
I would describe my strength as an Au pair as the ability to bond really well with kids and also
blending in very easily and as a result being able to be their mentor in different aspects of life
and also be like their big sister, also the ability to learn from my mistakes. On the other hand, I
would describe my weakness as an Au pair is that I have a hard time letting go of something or
someone because I get too attached to children especially and hence becomes emotionally
hard to detach from them
I am searching for a host family, that would be happy to have me as part of the family, be kind,
welcoming and who are willing to learn new culture and language. I am looking for a long time
stay with my host family, for one 1year or more depending on the connection formed with the
family.
