Hello, host family!

My name is Sibusisiwe, but my family calls me Sbusi, and I'm a 25-year-old South African native from the beautiful, sunny city of Durban. I currently live with my mom and four older brothers in a quaint and quiet suburb called Adams Mission.

I am compassionate, respectful, and patient, with a calm and genuine demeanor. Every challenge is met with stride. Being imaginative and creative are things that I enjoy since they allow me to confidently express myself.

In my free time, I enjoy reading classical literature, with Jane Austen being my favorite author. I love nature and enjoy being outdoors. I enjoy hiking and taking long walks. Crafting and crocheting are two of my favorite pastimes, as I enjoy being creative.

I have over five years of experience in childcare, and I have looked after kids from one month old to thirteen years old. I have worked as a teaching assistant at a primary school, working with children from the ages of eight up to thirteen. Some of the duties I performed at the school were organizing the class, supervising during class tasks, helping the learners who were falling behind, chaperoning during school excursions, etc. . I babysit two of my neighbor's kids, eight-year-old Zipho (smart and energetic) and five-year-old Zenanda (sassy, sweet, and also energetic), and I have been doing it for the past five years. I have been looking after Zipho since he was four years old and Zenanda since she was only one month old. I am quite fond of them, and they have grown to know me as their big sister. When I babysit, I help them with their homework, I tutor them, and I prepare their meals. I also enjoy running around with them and running after them.

I am finally ready to begin this new chapter of my life as an Au pair overseas, having recently completed my bachelor's degree in life science. Traveling and exploring the United States has been a lifelong goal of mine, and au pairing is the best method to accomplish it, as I love working with kids. As I try to keep an open mind about things, the cultural exchange component of this experience is the most thrilling part of it. I will be totally immersed in your culture and traditions by living with an American family. I will readily share the diverse and colorful South African culture with you as I become a part of the family and adopt your ways of living as my own.
