My name is Mariel. I am a daughter of two hardworking parents. I am from Cebu, Philippines. I am currently a college undergraduate student taking up Bachelor of Science in Political Science, but to be honest, it is not my dream course. I wanted to take Tourism Management course, unfortunately I got rejected, and I am seeing this rejection as a redirection. Also, I was a barista and an online seller before, these jobs helped me getting out of my comfort zone, be able to meet new people, and be more passionate with the things I am doing.
Moreover, I am the oldest daughter and granddaughter in the family, and I am able to babysit my younger cousins but I am an expert. I am responsible, dedicated, and passionate. I love watching k-dramas, eat delicious foods, taking pictures, cooking, and spending time in nature. I always love to travel, even I haven’t been in many places.
Never in my life I imagined myself seeing in this situation – writing why would I like to become an Au Pair abroad. As a family oriented person, it is a bit scary for me because I will be away from my loved ones but I know this will be a great opportunity to widen my knowledge and learn new languages, to gain more experiences, to meet new amazing people, and to have a good career that will surely help me become the better version of myself.
Being an Au Pair is such a wonderful opportunity as this will help me grow, be more independent and responsible. After becoming an Au Pair, I will continue striving harder, and I will pursue my dream of having a small coffee shop in my hometown.
