Dear Host Family,

My name is Charlotte, 25 yrs old, an aspiring au pair from the Philippines. You've probably received tons of letters from other candidates but rest assured you won't regret reading mine.

I grew up in a country side where I was accustomed to nature. I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I came from a family of four and we are all pet lovers. Currently, we have rescued 4 dogs and 4 cats. I am family-oriented and I love spending time with them and my friends. In my free time, I listen to music, practice guitar, travel and be with nature, and sing karaoke with my family. Furthermore, I like playing badminton, cycling, swimming and lately I am practicing pooI games. I also have a sweet tooth that's why I love to bake and cook.

Growing up, I've spent time playing with kids in our neighborhood. Some of them, particularly my younger cousins, nephews and nieces, would come into our house so I got to take care of them. I really love spending time with kids cause they are just so pure and innocent. The world would be dull without them. In addition to that, I participated in outreach and feeding programs for kids facilitated by the youth in our community. Before I got my professional license, I used to tutor kids in my neighborhood during summer. During pandemic, I also tutored kids online. I know taking care of kids will be quite challenging and is not an easy task but I am patient and passionate. I believe in my capabilities and I can adapt well.

Prior to my decision of becoming an au pair, I worked as a mechanical engineer at a shipping and logistics company situated outside my province so living abroad and being away from my family would be much easier for me. I also have good command in English so it would be easier for me to communicate and adapt to your needs and lifestyle. The reason why I want to go to the Europe as an au pair is that I want to get to know the European way of life as well as different cultures and languages. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children, do household chores and be part of your family.
