Dear future host family,

A pleasant day to you! I wrote this to introduce myself and to borrow your attention for just one minute of your time to read my letter. My name is Rowena . I am 25 years old, single, from Loay,Bohol, Philippines. I am an aspiring au pair who is applying to be an au pair to join and be part of your family. I took up Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English at Bohol Island State University. I graduated last month of May year 2020. In the future, I want to become a teacher to educate people especially the young ones. But right now, I found something new, the cultural exchange program which makes me really interested. I want to try and experience this kind of field to help me build my personality, communication skills, and my abilities. I came from a big family of nine. I have 3 sisters and 5 brothers and I am the seventh sibling. My father died when I was still 8 years old and our mother left us when I was 9 nine years old. At that time, I was able to took good care of my young sister and brother. Unfortunately, as months passed by, we decided to left them in our neighbors and we the older brothers and sisters decided to serve as a working student to continue our studies. It was hard, really hard but we did it, we survive in this survival world. By that, I always keep myself stronger, positive thinker and independent person. As of now, I lived together with my aunt and cousins. I love doing some activities such as: traveling, picnic, biking, reading books, watching movies, playing sports, and cooking. I do also love singing and dancing. I can do both, but my voice and moves may not be the best. It only makes me happy and served as my stress reliever. I've been taking good care of 7 months old baby until she became kinder while I am also studying in junior high school. It was a bit hard but it was fun too. When I heard about the au pair and it seemed interesting to me. The program of exchanging culture system between the host family and au pair candidate. I want also to learn and experience the culture and language of other countries, that’s why my dream right now. Aside from exploring some parts of the world, I also want to help my family back into one big family. I want to give back to those people who help me key to success, I want to help my mother be back home and I hope au pairing is a good opportunity for me to fulfil my dreams in life not only to immerse myself in this program but also to be able to apply what I’ve learned and to practice the essence of being an educator by taking care of your children where I can teach them, play with them, and able to extend my help to them. I am also hoping that after the contract, I will return to my country to pursue my career. I hope you can give me a chance to be part of your family to prove myself that I can be a big sister to your kids and to be able to learn some of your culture. I would be happy to start my au pair journey in your family and to your country.
