Dear Host Family,
Good day.
My name is Joven Jasper . I am 28 years old. I live in the city of Cabuyao Laguna which is about 2 hours from Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
I was born and raised in a quiet and beautiful province of Ragay, Camarines Sur. I spent my simple yet a happy childhood with my parents and my three siblings. I lived away from home at the age of 12 when I was chosen to be a scholar for secondary school in a religious congregation (The Sisters of Mary School- Boystown)that is located in Cavite, Philippines. I completed a 2 years course in college taking Associate in Information Technology. Few months after I graduated, I worked as a sales utility clerk in a department store where I have been a contractual worker for 3 years. I was able to enter the Business Process Outsourcing company way back March 2015. I worked as a customer service associate and I handled a telecommunication account (Verizon) up until now.
During my free time, I hike mountains with friends and sometimes go to the beach. I have always love playing music such as pop, classical, and country. Singing has been part of my therapeutic activity.
My childcare experience started way back 2013 when my
friends asked me to look after their eldest son. I've done it as a part time job as I work in the department store from Monday to Friday. Part of my job every Saturday is to feed the kid, help him with his crafts and arts, homework, and playing indoors/outdoors. It's the same activities and duties performed for the 8 years old son of my officemate who's a single parent. These duties were never new to me as I am the eldest among my siblings and it's my obligation to look after them when I was younger. Also, my sister who is a single parent lives with me. As an uncle or a godparent of my nephew, the responsibility of taking care of him since he's a toddler was put on me up to now. I believe that these experiences has taught me to be ready and equipped for my application as an Au pair.
It is cliché to say that this, I love children and I enjoy spending time with them. It's a blissful moment to see them learning from me. I know that it is not going to be an easy task and it is not just play and fun. With all the patience I learned from my previous job, I will be able to fulfill my duties especially when the kids are on their difficult situations/scenarios.
I live in an area where life is very simple. I can assure you that there wouldn't be any problem with me. I am not a demanding person, I respect and follow how rules. I am comfortable doing house chores as well. If something works not quite as it should, I prefer to talk instead of ignoring things.
