Introduction
Dear host family,
I am already very excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you.
My name is Dareen April, Yen is my nickname. I am 33 years old and from the Philippines. My parents, Dario (61) and Cherie (51), my sister Dyan (37) currently living in Sweden together with her family and my brother Daryl (30). I am living in a town that is located in an area full of nature. We have dogs and cats. My father was an ex-navy seal. My mother used to work at Electric Cooperative, and my brother works as a multimedia artist. Overall, we are only 5 in the family.
I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time with my friends; they are – as well as my family – very important to me. Always trying to help, I’m always there for them if they need me.
In my free time, I like to listen to music, go shopping and sight-seeing. I love nature. Playing badminton is one of my favorite hobbies and I used to teach young children at a local badminton club. Furthermore, I love cooking and singing – even though I cannot sing very well.
At the moment, I do part time online job, but not earning much. I used to work as a nursing assistant in the surgical department and was transferred in the ER dept in a hospital in the city. I took care of patients-children of all ages, seniors and the needed ones from different cities/town. I also worked in Denmark years ago as an Au pair with a family of 4 (2 kids). I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them.
The reason why I want to go back abroad as an au pair is that I want to get to know the life as well as different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. And of course, it would be great to improve my English skills as well and to be able to help my family.
I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids. I am looking forward to talking to you.
