Hi, my name is Toni, and I'm 22 years old from the Philippines.
I'm truly excited about the possibility of becoming an au pair and being given the chance to experience life as part of a family in another country.
I'm the second of five siblings, and caring for children has always felt like a natural part of who I am. Growing up in a big family taught me to be patient, easygoing, and quick to adapt. During my college years, my mother worked as a babysitter, and I had the privilege of helping her care for a family's son in exchange for being able to stay at their home. I began looking after him when he was 6 years old and continued for four years, until he turned 10. Over that time, I supported his daily routine — meals, bedtime, homework, getting ready for school, and playtime — and I came to be known as someone calm and steady, even on the most hectic of days. I've also had the joy of looking after my 2-year-old nephew one summer, which gave me a gentle introduction to caring for a younger child as well.
I hope to take the responsibility of caring for your children with the seriousness it deserves, while also having the chance to immerse myself in your culture, learn your language, and hopefully build a warm and lasting relationship with your family.
If I may, I'd love to mention that I enjoy listening to music and watching documentaries in my free time, I find documentaries especially interesting because I love learning new things, which is actually part of why I'm drawn to this experience in the first place, and I would be happy to share these little interests with your children, should they be interested.
