My name is Melanie Serna, nice to meet you!
As you may know, im 19 years old...
I was studying a college career, International Affairs to be more specific, but I needed a
break.
Right now, im helping my dad at his office, I order the books (there are many of them) and
sometimes I help them to attend people.
I was born and raised in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México, my city is so big and there are a lot
of things to do here!
I'd like to tell you about my family, so, let's begin:
Agustín is the name of my dad, he's 56, he's a civil register officer.
My mom's name is Laura, she's 54, she's a housewife.
I have 3 sisters, Laura (37), Michelle (31) and Alejandra (29). Laura and Alejandra work in an office, Michelle is a housewife.
I really love my family, they're so supportive with everything I decide to do.
Now, let me talk about me:)
I love cooking, no matter if it's an old recipe I already know by heart or a new one. My favorites ones are desserts and typical Mexican food, but I'm always open to any suggestions you may have. I love learning and experimenting on the kitchen.
I also enjoy reading and writing, I find it very calming, and apart of keeping my head busy it's a way of traveling to another universe without needing to lift a finger. I love to traveling as well, the feeling of getting inside a plane knowing I'll land in a different place gives me goosebumps of excitement.
About my experience with children, let me tell you about them:
I took care of Lauren, she's a 2 year old, and her little brother, Joshua, he's 1 year old, I did many things with them, like prepared their milk bottles, cleaned their room, washed their clothes, played with them, made them their meals, bathed them, changed their diapers, watched movies, went to the park with them and drove Lauren to her ballet class more than once. Lauren loves cook with me, she also helped me to mix the mixture whenever we were baking.
Fernando is a 3 year-old kid, I fed him with healthy food, played with him, he loves spider man so we played a lot with his spider man toys and changed his diapers.
With Lian, also a 3-year-old kid, prepared his baby formula, changed his diaper, played with him, did handcraft with him because he loves to do it, watched movies and taught him to count numbers.
I want to be an Au Pair because I would love to have more experience in childcare, I feel that childhood is the strongest pile of a person's life, so I'd be delighted to help and guide your kids so they can grow into good people, I want them to grow without fears and feeling comfortable expressing themselves, but most importantly, to grow with love in their hearts, so they can spread that love.
On the other hand, I'm more than excited to work on my English while doing something that I love, this experience could also help me in my career future, by placing this on my resume I could prove my skills to future companies that may be interested in me.
When my period in the U.S. ends, I plan to return to Mexico to study my university career, in addition, do my professional internship. I would also like to continue taking care of children, as I love doing it.
