Hello future host family,
My name is Joanna and I would like to describe myself here. I am 21 years old and from a small town in Kenya called Limuru but I currently reside at Nairobi. I am the eldest in my family (I have 2 younger siblings).
I have been an au pair before to a very nice German family that was living in Kenya and I loved my experience there and would definitely want to try it again! It has always been a great dream of mine to study, live and work in a foreign continent and I am really excited that it will become a reality soon. I would like to go Europe because it is a beautiful continent full of calming landscapes, foreign rivers and mountains. I am fascinated by the marvelous landscape and the hospitality from the nice people living in Europe.
What can I offer as an au pair for your children? I am an optimistic and enthusiastic person by nature. I am looking forward for a cultural exchange with your family. I speak English fluently and German at A2 Level. I'm currently learning Dutch and Spanish. I hope to improve my German, Spanish and Dutch and help your children improve their English as well! In my free time I like to bike ride, go for walks, work out, draw and explore new cities. I also love to cook! If I become your next au pair I suggest we have many cultural exchanges through cuisine!
Why am I choosing to become an au pair? I am very motivated because I believe cultural exchanges are some of the most rewarding experiences in one's life. I believe that the job of an au pair is challenging but with many rewards.
And my experience with children? I am the eldest of three in my family. I watched after my younger sister and brother and my cousin's kids. I started babysitting when I was 10. I am also able to engage children in various activities eg.Swimming, bike riding, nature walks and drawing.
